Welcome to Bart-Colerain Elementary! My name is Robert Dangler, and I am excited to become a part of the Bart-Colerain team as the new principal for the 2008-2009 school year. Allow me to tell you a little bit about myself. I am proud to be beginning my 11th year in education with 7 of those years here in Solanco. I graduated from Lebanon Valley College with my Bachelor's in psychology and continued my education at Widener University earning a Master's in special education, a Master's in educational administration, and a Doctorate in educational leadership. Through my education and experiences I have developed my personal philosophy of education, which hinges on the belief that all children have the ability to learn. It was this belief which led me to seek employment in the Solanco School District.
As a former teacher at Solanco high school and assistant principal of Smith and Swift
middle schools, I am familiar with the history, culture, and tremendous academic growth of the Solanco School District community. Bart-Colerain Elementary, which was named as a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education in 2006, is certainly an outstanding example of the type of academic accomplishments our students are achieving.
However, these accomplishments would not have been possible without the support and hard work of our community, students and staff. Our faculty, students, and parents are proud of the school's accomplishments and continually promote the school's mantra of going "Above and Beyond". Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance to you in any way. I look forward to serving you and your students, and continuing to foster the tradition of support and excellence that has been established.
