Message from the Principal of Bart-Colerain Elementary School

Welcome and thank you for visiting the Bart-Colerain Elementary website. I am happy have the privilege to serve as Bart's principal. The staff members at Bart-Colerain have high expectations for student success. We make it our mission to foster the characteristics of respect, responsibility, courage and kindness in the children who attend here. Teachers are well-educated, caring and committed to using the best educational practices. Our support staff members are highly-qualified and work closely with the teachers to provide exceptional educational experiences for our students.

Visitors to Bart will see hardworking students who are also concerned about their community. Our students are skillful readers, writers and problem solvers. They are compassionate contributors to the local food bank and other non-profit organizations. Many students are learning to play musical instruments. Beautiful student-made artwork lines the hallways. Physical Education and Library classes are two of the students' favorites. Our students are learning the foundational skills of reading, writing, social studies, science and math, as well as developing an appreciation for the arts and physical activity.

The P.T.O. is active and I encourage all parents to get involved. If your child attends Bart-Colerain, you are already a member! Please call or stop by the office to find out how to get involved. Some P.T.O. - sponsored events include our Race for Education fundraiser, Open Gym Nights and a carnival to celebrate reading. We welcome parent volunteers and recognize that parent involvement in a child's education is an important factor in his or her success in school. The more parents know about what is going on in school, the more likely it is that a child will be motivated to achieve.

I look forward to developing strong relationships with parents, students and community members. Please contact me with ideas, questions and concerns.

Sincerely,

Sandra Haines
